ROTTERDAM – Anthony J. Friguletto, 90, of Glengary Road, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 09, 2016 after a brief illness.
Tony was born and educated in Schenectady, a son of the late Peter and Rose Robertello Friguletto. He was a 1943 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Tony honorably served as a Sergeant in the US Army during WWII in the Philippines' and was awarded a Purple Heart. He worked as a machinist for the General Electric Company. Tony was life member of the DAV, Chapter 88, Rotterdam Elks, the Mt. Carmel Suscipiat Canora Society, Rotterdam Senior Center and a communicant of St. Luke's Church.
The family wishes to celebrate Tony's blessed life-a life of love extended, commitments kept and faith observed. Tony was a man of integrity and honor, infinite patience and wisdom. His was a life worth emulating, a life of great faith and generosity, a life of service to others and a life of simple joys in his family. He has a left a legacy to his beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife Viola Puglio Friguletto, who were married on June 22, 1947, until her death on June 27, 2011; his siblings, Vincent "Jim" Friguletto, Eleanor Friguletto, Anna Friguletto, Rocco Friguletto, Sylvester Friguletto, Beatrice Van Derwerken and Peter Friguletto.
Survivors include his devoted daughters, Donna Buchardt, of Schenectady and Cynthia Shields, and her husband Daniel, of Rotterdam; grandchildren, Michele (Joseph) Ciliento, Sherri (Bryan) Minch, and Brian and Christopher Shields; great grandchildren, Olivia and Sophia Ciliento and Anika and Sonia Minch. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held on Friday at 8am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street and then to St. Luke's Church, State Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.
