Schenectady – Anthony P. Coppola, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Ellis Hospital. Born on August 22, 1942, he was the son of the late Anthony P. and Theresa Macri Coppola. Raised in Schenectady; he was a proud lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Niskayuna High School.

Tony enjoyed a long and successful career as a wine and liquor sales representative, serving customers throughout Schenectady and Schoharie Counties for more than 50 years. He worked for several distributors before retiring from Eber Brothers Distributors in Guilderland. Known affectionately as “Tony the Hat,” he was a colorful character with a personality that left a lasting impression. His customers loved him, and he was the kind of man people remembered long after he left the room.

Above all, Tony was devoted to his family, who meant the world to him. He held a particularly special place in his heart for his beloved grandson, whom he treasured dearly.

Tony was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Gabriele D’Annunzio Lodge #321, participated in the City Hall Golf League, and was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish. In his leisure time, he enjoyed a good game of cards and the excitement of the races at Saratoga.

Tony will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, the friendships he built throughout his many years in the community, and the love he shared with his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Joanne Stahlhut Coppola; devoted sons, Anthony P. Coppola and Fred Coppola; grandson, David Coppola; a brother, Paul (Susan) Coppola and their family; and many loving cousins, friends and associates.
