SLINGERLANDS – Anthony V. Civitello, Sr., 80, passed away suddenly from COVID-19 on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital. He now rests for eternity with his Savior.
Tony was born on May 9, 1940, a son of the late Frank and Grace Ferarro Civitello. He was a man of wide-ranging knowledge and learning. His expertise spanned many different areas. He loved heavy equipment and worked for Local #294, earning a 2 million mile pin. Tony was an entrepreneur in the restaurant business from 1981-2017. He also worked as a level 3 ski instructor at Gore Mountain. Tony had and kind and generous heart and was devoted to his family, friends, and his faith.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Gardiner Civitello; son, Anthony V. Civitello, Jr.; step-children, Dominick Lombardi and the late Joelle Dean; grandchildren, Brandon (Holly) Pierce; Gabriela Lombardi, Chloe Lombardi the late Joshua Pierce; great-grandchildren, Kyarra, Leah, Armani, and Gianna Pierce; siblings, Judy Rhemensnider, Kathy Lafraniere, and the late Frank Civitello; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm on Thursday at St. Luke’s Church, State Street.
