Anna P Goska, 86 passed away peacefully into the embrace of the Lord on Friday, June 28, 2024, at home, surrounded by the love of her daughters at her bedside.
Anna was born in Schenectady, NY and attended Nott Terrace High School and graduated from Venerini Academy in 1955 in Worcester Mass.
She started her career working for New York State, The Office Restaurant and retired from Partridge Dental Lab in 1996.
Anna enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles, trips to the casino, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
She found the most joy and happiness when she was with her daughters, particularly during their slumber parties.
Anna was a woman with strong faith who had been a devout member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Schenectady her entire life.
Every day, she devoutly prayed the rosary for her numerous family members and others in need.
Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph, who passed away in 2004. This September would have marked their 65th wedding anniversary.
Anna was the youngest daughter of the late Anthony and Florence DeBlasio. She has been reunited once again with all her siblings, Pat DeBlasio, Angie Campriello, John DeBlasio, Beatrice DeBlasio, Alfred DeBlasio, Mary D'Amico, Dolores Sacchetti, and Evelyn Meyers.
Survived by her cherished daughters Pamela (Joseph) Fiano, Deborah (Blake) Sowards, Christine Goska-Skokan (Karl) Skokan, Kimberly (David) DeCrescente, and Cathleen Goska (Harinder), along with her favorite grand-dog Murphy.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchild, and numerous adoring nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews near and far.
Anna's memory lives on eternally in the hearts of her family, especially her daughters, serving as a lasting testament to the values of faith, love, forgiveness, and resilience.
The Goska girls express their heartfelt appreciation to Kelly Hendricks from Saratoga County Hospice, and Connie Koutsopoulos for their exceptional care and support.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 3 at St. Anthony’s Church at 11am.
Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the St. Anthonys Church, Seward Place on Wednesday from 9am - 11am.
Instead of floral tributes, contributions in memory of Anna can be directed to St. Anthony's Church, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
