Ann Morgalis

July 23, 1916 — April 11, 2011

SCHENECTADY- Ann V. Morgalis, 94, of Schaffer Heights, formerly of Lenox Road, entered into the arms of the Lord on Monday at the Glendale Home, after a brief illness.
Ann was born in Schenectady, on July 23,1916, a daughter of the late William and Agnes Domblesky Menkey. She was a 1935 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She was employed in the business office at Ellis Hospital retiring in 1981.
Ann was a woman of great devotion, to her family, friends and church. She was a member of the former Holy Cross Church and a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, a member of the Sacred Heart League, the choir, an annual feasta worker and the visitation program for the hospitals, homebound and nursing homes and the Rosary Society at St. John the Evangelist Church.
Ann was a founding member of the former Northside Seniors, and volunteered at Ellis Hospital, the City Mission, Concerned for the Hungry and worked on every Reunion Committee for her 1935 graduating class.
The Morgalis family would like to extend a special thank to all of Ann’s caregivers over the years. Your care and compassion was greatly appreciated.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 30 years Joseph J. Morgalis.
Survivors include her devoted children, Arlene and her husband Ronald Belli, of Schenectady, Margaret and her husband Charles Wilson, of Boise ID and Joseph W. Morgalis, of Schenectady; 5 beloved grandchildren, Debra and her husband Mark Orminski, Sharon and her husband Donald Miller, Jr., Joseph Morgalis, Daniel Morgalis and Marianne Morgalis and 3 great-grandchildren, Emily and Christopher Orminski and Olivia Miller; her dear friends, Carmela Scripa, Deborah Dunn Aulicino and Helen Sage; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday morning at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Rotterdam.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s memory to Catholic Charities of Schenectady County, Senior Transportation Fund.
