Angela 'Angie' M. Defilippo

SCHENECTADY – Angela M. DeFilippo, 95, formerly of Mason Street, passed away on Thursday at the Baptist Rehabilitation Center.
Angie was born August 22, 1915 in Schenectady, a daughter of the late Dominick and Maria Capparelli Masucci. She attended Oneida School and earned her High School Diploma. She worked at Union College as a library assistant in the Nott Library for many years until the birth of her sons. Angie was a loving homemaker to her husband and sons and returned to work later in life for the Schenectady School District, retiring after 10 years of service. She was a lifelong, devoted communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, a 70 year lifetime member of the Sacred Heart League, in which she chaired, worked and supported numerous events; she worked the weekly bingo and countless years at the annual Festa. She was an avid bowler in the Sunday Nite League and a member of the Northside Seniors.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph P. DeFilippo; siblings Louis Masucci, Philomena LaPorta and Antoinette Palleschi.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Lewis M. DeFilippo, of Quaker Street and Paul J. DeFilippo, and his wife Lynn of Glenville; adoring grandchildren, Elizabeth Dever and her husband Luke, Mark DeFilippo, Lauren Mattison and her husband Jamie and David DeFilippo; great grandchildren, Logan and Miriam Dever; loving brother, Michael Masucci and his wife Dorothy of Rotterdam; a sister-in-law, Jean DeFilippo, of Schenectady; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street, then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Internment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Monday evening from 5 to 8 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Angie’s memory to St. Anthony’s Memorial Fund.
