Angela Dematteo Agostino

TOWN OF BRUNSWICK - Angela M. DeMatteo Agostino, 59, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Angela was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Ruggerio DeMatteo. She attended Mohonasen High School and worked for the N.Y.S. Department of Social Welfare and then The E. Stewart Jones law firm and later at her husband's family owned business, Alberto Italian Restaurant in Troy.
Angela found her true passion when she and her husband started their own business, Agostino's Sports Wear. She worked everyday with zest and vigor even throughout her illness. She was very active in her children's lives and always encouraged and supported them in pursuing their passions. Spending time with her family was Angela's first priority; it brought her the most joy in life. She loved traveling and planning vacations, including frequent trips to Lake George, her favorite place. She also loved her two canine companions, Blaze and Booda.
Angela will always be remembered for her courage and strong will. Her family would like to thank all those who were part of Angela's life including family, friends and neighbors who have provided incredible amounts of love in recent years.
Angela fought a courageous eight year battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, her strong will and determination never faltered. Angela will always be remembered for her devotion to her husband and children.
Survivors include her husband Gerry and her two sons, Gerard and Alex. She is also survived by her in-laws, Teresa and Robert Plunkett, Josephine and John Adam; their children, Ann Marie and Dave Judge, Karen and Mike Skiba, Maggie and Anthony Plunkett, Matthew and Karen Adamo, Mark Adamo and Andrea Adamo; grand nieces and nephews, Anthony, Arianna and David Judge, Gabrielle and Julia Skiba, Isabella Plunkett, Christian and Lorelie Adamo.
Services will be held Friday morning at 10 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment to follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Brandywine Avenue.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm.
