NISKAYUNA – Amelia ‘Mimi’ Carboni, 95, entered peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
Mimi was born in Schenectady on January 21, 1926 a daughter of the late Angelo and Rosa Gabriel Carboni. Amelia attended Schenectady Vocational High School and graduated from Nott Terrace High School. She enjoyed gardening and bowling and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews and their families. She was employed as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Security at General Electric, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Mimi was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and always looked forward to working at their annual Festa.
She was predeceased by her parents Angelo and Rose Carboni; sisters, Antoinette, Emma and Mary Carboni; her brothers-in-law, Ricardo Benacquista and Nicholas Sorrentino, her nephew, Ralph Sorrentino.
Mimi is survived by her devoted sisters, Olga Carboni, Dorothy Sorrentino, both of Niskayuna and Roselyn Benacquista, of Guilderland; nephews, Mark (Denise) Sorrentino, Gregory (Sherry) Sorrentino; Gary (Tiffany) Benacquista; nieces, Lisa (David) Dobkowski, Kathy (John) Kaminsky, Linda (Robert) Blake; many great nieces and great nephews, also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Place. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Anthony’s Church on Saturday morning from 10am until 11am. COVID restrictions will be adhered to and masks must be worn.
