Alfred J. Articolo

ROTTERDAM – Alfred J. Articolo Sr, 98, entered into eternal life on Friday, December 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Al was born in Schenectady, the son of the late George and Maria LaTerra Articolo. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and honorably served in the United States Army Air Force. Al worked as a guard at KAPL, eventually transitioning to a machinist at the General Electric Company, retiring in 1979 after 35 years of dedicated service. Al was an active participant and board member with the IUE-CWA Local 301, and continued his activism for 45 years with the Retirees Union providing support and participating in local events. Al was a dedicated husband and father; he worked tirelessly providing a good life for his family.
Al was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lorene Lumpkins Articolo, whom he married on June 15, 1946 until her passing Feburary 12, 2007; loving son Alfred J. Articolo Jr.; and siblings, A. George, Orlando, and Victor Articola, Josephine Chiachiaretta, Virginia DeNovio and a baby brother John.
He is survived by his loving children Marie (Tammy Wengenack) Miklic, Edward (Mariela) Articolo, Sheila (Tom) Carr; sister Connie Capperell Schultz; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday January 5, 2022 at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, at 10am with Pastor Tiffany Lewis, officiating. Internment will follow in Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
