SCHENECTADY- Alexander V. Chotkowski, 86, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at home with his loving daughter by his side.
Alex was born in Charlton, a son of Myron and Antoinette Boruch Chotkowski. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School and began his long career with Walter J. Socha Builders in Scotia, as a maintenance supervisor, first at Indian Brook Apartments, and later at Shady Lane, retiring after 45 years of service. Referred to as the Mayor of Carrie Street, after retirement, Alex cared for his neighbors and friends, helping to maintain his lifelong neighborhood.
A man of Christian faith, Alex, was a kind and caring man, truly devoted to his wife and family, he was a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Kopacki Chotkowski, on September 22, 2002 and a siblings, Joseph Chotkowski; Mary Ann (Raymond) Greene, Pauline (Jim) Haley, John Chotkowski, Leon (Beverly) Chotkowski, Chester Chotkowski, and Thomas Chotkowski
Alex is survived by his devoted children, Mark (Laura) Chotkowski; Kathy Chotkowski and David (Amy) Chotkowski; sister, Antoinette Chotkowski; sisters-in-law, Marylou Chotkowski and Barbara Chotkowski; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday at 9am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St. followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
