Aldo Martone

SCHENECTADY- Aldo Martone, 77, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Albany Medical Center, after a brief illness. Aldo was born in Fontanarosa, province of Avellino, Italy, the son of the late Salvatore and Angelina Renna Martone. He was a master mason, who, from an early age, honed his craft in Italy, and Switzerland before continuing his work in America till his last days. Aldo enjoyed the sport of soccer and playing cards with his friends. Though stoic in demeanor, Aldo was very kind and thoughtful. His love for his hometown, and family was insurmountable. He was predeceased by many whom he loved and honored. Aldo is survived by his wife, Gina; sons, Salvatore and Antonio, all of Schenectady; brothers, Guido and Alberto, of Fontanarosa, Italy; sisters, Ida and Rose, of Waterbury, CT; several nieces and nephews. Private calling hours and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Aldo’s memory. Burial will be in his hometown of Fontanarosa, Italy.
