SCHENECTADY – Alberta E. Galli, 85, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Palm Sunday.
She was born in Schenectady on October 8, 1925, the daughter of Nicola and Ermenia Vitale Martinelli. She graduated from the former Nott Terrace High School, and attended secretarial training school. Alberta worked devotedly for 62 years as an administrative assistant at the General Electric R&D Center. She was a member of the GE 50 year club and a longtime communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. Alberta lead a creative life, expressing herself through her many artistic talents. Above all she was a strong spry woman, who treasured her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and loved sharing her meals, recipes and passion for cooking with everyone.
She was predeceased in 2008, by her beloved husband of 59 years Daniel R. Galli, whom she married on June 25, 1949.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Daniel R. and Vivian Galli, Jr., of Niskayuna and many dear and devoted nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday morning at 9AM from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, and then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10AM. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 4 to 7 PM.
