SCHENECTADY– Adele Laviano DiPietro, 100, formerly of Grand Blvd, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Kingsway.
Adele was born in Fondachelli, Province of Messina, Sicily on September 15, 1915. She immigrated to Schenectady in 1936 to be with her husband Angelo. In 1944 she, together with her husband owned and operated Angelo DiPietro's Wholesale Hardware Store, on VanVranken Avenue until 1980. Adele was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Sacred Heart League. Adele was a loving, caring and gracious woman, always attentive to her family and many friends.
The DiPietro family is grateful to the Kingsway Community for the care, compassion and dignity given to Adele.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 74 years Angelo DiPietro on October 6, 2010, a sister Concettina Laviano DiPietro.
Survivors include her loving and devoted nieces and nephew; Armand Garofalo and his wife Carol, of Clifton Park, Edith Burns and her husband David, of Lynnfield, MA, Maria Puglisi and her husband Giovanni, of Province of Messina, Sicily and many great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held on Friday morning at 12 noon from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets and then to St. John the Evangelist Church where a Mass will be celebrated at 1 pm. Entombment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday from 10am to 12 noon.
