Adalgisa Dege Deblasio

SCHENECTADY – Adalgisa “Dege” A. DeBlasio, 90, formerly of Park Place, entered peacefully into the Arms of the Lord on Wednesday evening.
Dege was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Liberato and Vincenza Castricone Lattanzio. She was educated in Schenectady schools. During WWII she trained as a Red Cross Nurse’s Aide, volunteering at Ellis Hospital. Dege was loving, caring and utterly selfless. A gentle woman, whom loved to cook, to feed and shelter all. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister and true friend to all. She was a woman of great faith and a devoted lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, a member of its Sacred Heart League, a 50 year member of its choir and a worker at the annual Festa.
Dege was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, John J. DeBlasio, her siblings, Louis T. Lattanzio, Irma Pardi, Mary “Honey” Castricone, Frank Lattanzio and PFC Anthony V. Lattanzio.
Survivors include her loving children, Patricia DiCocco and her husband Larry Sr., of Rotterdam, Annie Kowalski and her husband David, of Saratoga, John “Jocko” DeBlasio and his wife Vicky, of Rotterdam and Christine Comacho and her husband Herb, of Hawaii; grandchildren, Lauren and Todd DeFayette, Larry and Tracy DiCocco, Jr., Michael and Monica DiCocco, Christopher and Marisa DiCocco, Alissa DiCocco, Rachael and Corey Osinski, David Kowalski, Ashley DeBlasio and Danna DeBlasio; great-grandchildren, Jake, Jack and Mia DeFayette, Alexandra, Adriana, Micheala, and Duilio DiCocco, Jayden and Austin Osinski and Milana LaFond; sisters-in-law, Beatrice DeBlasio, Evelyn Meyer and Anna Goska ; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their utmost and sincere gratitude to the entire staff on 2N, Dr. Ringler, Chaplain Mark and Theresa Smith, at the Baptist Health and Rehabilation Center, for the remarkable care and friendship extended to Dege. It was a true honor to become part of the Baptist family. To Father Richard Carlino, for your devotion, care and compassion to our Mom and to Sr. Maria Rosa for your many years of visits and prayers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Anthony’s Church, Friday from 4 to 8 pm.
