Viola Friguletto

ROTTERDAM – Viola Puglio Friguletto, 85, entered into eternal rest on Monday at her residence surrounded by her adoring family. Viola was born in Schenectady, a daughter of the late Mario and Maria Uliano Puglio. She was a 1944 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She worked for the FW Woolworth Company and as a clerk for the Schenectady County Board of Elections for many years. Above all she was a devoted homemaker, caring for her family and friends. Viola was a member of the Rotterdam Senior Citizens, the Ladies of the Rotterdam Elks Auxiliary and a devout communicant of St. Luke’s Church. She was predeceased by her siblings, Amelia DiLorenzo, Albert, Alfred, Frank and Victor Puglio. Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, Anthony J. Friguletto, who were married June 22, 1947; loving daughters, Donna Buchardt, of Schenectady and Cynthia Shields and her husband Daniel, of Rotterdam; cherished grandchildren, Michele Ciliento and her husband Joseph, Sherrie Minch and her husband Bryan, Brian Shields and Christopher Shields; sisters, Gloria Palmer and her husband Charles, of Schenectady and Dolores Foley and her husband Thomas, of Largo, Fl; adoring great-granddaughters, Olivia and Sophia Ciliento, Anika and Sonia Minch; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday morning at 8AM from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets then to St. Luke’s Church, State Street, where a Mass will be celebrated at 9 am with Fr. Dominc Isopo officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Brandywine Avenue. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm.
