ROTTERDAM – Vincenzo J. Attanasio, 79, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 1st. Vincenzo was born in Schenectady on October 6, 1934 a son of the late Giovanni and Rosa Ciparano Attanasio. He served in the US Army with the Special Forces, 82nd Airborne Division. Vincenzo worked for DeLuke Readi-Mix in Scotia for 17 years, before becoming self employed in sales. He is survived by his brother, Mario Attanasio; former wife Shirley Attanasio; loving children, Dean Attanasio, J. Vincenzo Attanasio, Toniann Cimino, and Roseann Healey; grandchildren, Nicholas Attanasio, Ashley Healey, Erica Buzzo, Nicolina Attanasio, Brittany Cimino and Brianna and Alana Attanasio; a great-grandson Dominick Cimino. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be held Saturday morning from 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets and then to St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Brandywine Avenue. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
