GLENVILLE - Rose Morrette Peruzzi, 91, went home to her Heavenly Life on Monday, January 10, 2022. Rose was born in South Schenectady, a daughter of the late John and Grelia Pidgeon Morrette. She attended Jefferson School and graduated in 1947 from Draper High School. She worked at the family business, Morrette’s Steak House and later at the Maqua Company. Rose worked as the office manager and escort for Wade Tours, where she enjoyed traveling and made many friendships, she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. A gentle and cherished woman of great faith, Rose devoted herself to her family, church, and community. She volunteered for school events, at the Baptist Retirement Center, Proctor’s, the Sons of Italy where she was a 50-year member, and her lifelong parish, St. Joseph’s Church, ‘where she was often seen counting the weekly collections.” Rose received many accolades throughout her life, but her legacy of family, faith, and service will be remembered by all whose life Rose so graciously touched. When not volunteering, Rose’s favorite pastime was bowling in local leagues. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry O. Peruzzi; and siblings, Tony Morrette, Mary Matteo, Theresa Moran, Grace Houck Pendergrast, James, Donald, Joseph and Louis Morrette. Rose is survived by her loving children, Amelia “Amy” (Tim Mabee) Peruzzi Hunt and Paul H. Peruzzi; adoring grandchildren, Shawn (Meghan) Hunt, Nicholas Peruzzi, Richard Hunt, and Matthew Peruzzi; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Gavin, and Kylie Rose Hunt; sister-in-law, Jean Denofio; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 231 Second St, Scotia, with Fr. Thomas Morrette, officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Joseph’s Church on Saturday morning from 9:30 am until the Mass. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s memory to St. Joseph’s Church.
