SCHENECTADY – Philomena Capobianco, 84, formerly of Avenue A, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Ellis Hospital. Phil, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mariantonia DiBiase, was born in Schenectady on September 15, 1929. She was a 1947 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. Phil worked as a clerk in the cashiers office at Ellis Hospital. She was a kind spirited woman, devoted to her family, friends, faith and community. She volunteered for numerous charitable organizations throughout Schenectady, and served on many committees. She especially loved her beloved St. Anthony's Church, she was a 56 year member and past president of the Sacred Heart League and a lifelong festa worker. Phil was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Louis Capobianco, in 2012 and her siblings, Peter DiBiase, Joseph DiBiase and Julia Czarkowski. She is survived by her loving children, Dominick Capobianco and his wife Cindy, of Rotterdam, Anne Marie Peltier and her husband Daniel, of Ballston Lake, Christine Kazmierczak and her husband Edmund, of Niskayuna and Catherine Busher and her husband Jonathan, of Scotia; adoring grandchildren, Christopher Capobianco, of Miami, FL and Brandon Peltier, of Ballston Lake; brother Donald DiBiase and his wife Patricia; sisters-in-law, Carol Lydia DiBiase and Carol Ann DiBiase and Edith Capobianco, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Phil's memory to St. Anthony's Church Restoration Fund, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305 or Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, 103 Patroon Dr., #10, Guilderland, NY 12084.
