Josephine Vitelli Riccio

April 27, 1924 - February 15, 2018

SCHENECTADY - Josephine R. Vitelli Riccio, 93, of Seneca Street, entered into eternal life on Thursday, February 15, 2018 after a brief illness. Jo was born on April 27, 1924 in Schenectady the daughter of the late Rocco and Jennie (LaPorta) Vitelli. Jo was a January graduate of Nott Terrace High School, class of 1942, and began her long tenure with the General Electric Company in the payroll and insurance departments. She retired in 1983 after 42 years of service. Jo was a member of the GEAA and the Women's Club and a member of the former Northside Senior Citizens and a lifetime communicant of St. Anthony's Church an annual Feasta worker and a member of the Sacred Heart League. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank A. Riccio, whom she married August 18, 1946 and he died November 22, 1992; sisters, Nicolina Borelli and Matilda Canto. Survivors include her loving sister, Mary Coblish, of Schenectady; many special nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be held on Saturday at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, and then to St. Anthony's Church where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Saturday from 8 to 9 am. Memorial contributions may be made in Jo's memory the St. Anthony's Church Restoration Fund, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305.
