NISKAYUNA – Jesse F. Dipley, 92, went home to the Lord on Monday after a brief illness. Jesse was born in Schenectady, a son of the late Jesse and Mary Stritch Dipley. He attended Mt. Pleasant High where he was enrolled in the electrical engineering program and an outstanding member of the track team, graduating in 1938. Jesse served in the United States Army, in the Medical Corp, during WWII. He was employed by New York Telephone as an electronics instructor, retiring after 43 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Jesse volunteered his time as a member of the Telephone Pioneers, repairing talking books and machine recorders. He was a member of the Clifton Park Elks, a coordinator and tax preparer for AARP members and a longtime communicant of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church serving on the Board of Vestry for several years. The Dipley family would like to thank the entire staff of 3S at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, for the kind and loving care they bestowed upon Jesse. Jesse was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth Saulpaugh Dipley, whom he married October 9, 1943 in St. George's Episcopal Church and she died in 2009; siblings, Robert Dipley and Anna Mae Mallia; in-laws, Betty Dipley, Joseph Mallia and Marion Dipley. He is survived by his loving daughters, Denise Campbell, of Gainesville, FL and Arlene Palmerino and her husband Richard, of Rotterdam; grandsons, Thomas Jorgensen, Richard Palmerino, David Palmerino, Anthony Palmerino and his wife Jennifer; a great-grandson Nate Palmerino, a brother, George Dipley; a nephew Hubert Mallia and his late wife Joyce; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday morning at 11 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street, with the Reverend Paul Blanch, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Memory's Garden. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Thursday morning from 9 to 11 am.
