Barbara Raudenbush Bailey

Rexford – Barbara Raudenbush Bailey, 93, a resident of Coburg Village, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Barbara was born in Shillington, PA, a daughter of the late Stanley and Sarah Raudenbush. She was a 1946 graduate of Shillington High School, and received a BS in Percussion from the Juilliard School, in NYC. She was the Tympanist of the Bergen Philharmonic (NJ) for over 40 years. In recent years, Barbara was still performing as a member of the Colonie (NY) Memorial Concert Band, and the Windjammers Unlimited (Traditional Circus Music Historical Society). She was also a member of the PEO, an organization which provides educational opportunities for women. She also maintained memberships in Windjammers, Circus Fans of America, and The Circus World Museum in Baraboo, WI. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elden C. “Buster” Bailey and her dear companion Douglas D. MacLeod. She will be missed by her sisters, Joyce (Russell) Smith and Elaine (Anthony) DiBrita; a cousin Linda Raudenbush (Leon Harney);; nieces and nephews, Judy (Jerry) Tomisman, Diane (Bill) Kitson, Anthony (Linda) DiBrita, Laura (Joe) Velez, Elizabeth DiBrita and Thomas DiBrita; ten grand-nieces and nephews and her adopted MacLeod family. A service to commemorate her life will be held on Saturday, May 14th, 2 pm, at Coburg Village, Rexford NY. Masks are required per Coburg policy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to The Windjammers Unlimited, Inc. at www.mywju.org or WMHT, at www.wmht.org.
