SCHENECTADY – Annunziata 'Nancy' Petrucci Di Matteo, 81, of Cullen Avenue, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday morning at home, surrounded by her loving family. Annunziata was born in Faichio, Benvento, Italy on March 28, 1933 a daughter of the late Angelo and Carmella Palmieri Petrucci. She immigrated to the United States on April 11, 1964. She joined her husband, settling in Pennsylvania and later moved to Schenectady in 1965. She was faced with many challenges throughout life, embracing them with her committed faith to her Lord, hard work and devotion to her family. She was a devoted homemaker and avid gardener. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony's Church. The Italian heritage and traditions that Nancy lived by, will be her legacy to her beloved husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law Catrina Petrucci and her husband Antonio Ucci and Maria Petrucci and her husband Joseph Nero. She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Dominick "Tony" Di Matteo, whom she married April 5, 1959; loving and devoted children, Josephine Peek and her husband Michael, Carmelina Walkup and her husband John, Nicolina Rosa Margas and her husband Kevin, Joseph Angelo Di Matteo and his wife Lisa, Angelina DeCarlo and her husband Jeff; sisters, Carmina Petrucci and her husband Frank Coppola and Filomena Petrucci and her husband Giovanni Menillo; 9 adoring grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters- in-law, Frank Di Matteo and his late wife Rosalina, Nancy Di Matteo and Nicola Di Matteo and his wife Anna; many nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be held Wednesday at 9 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets and then to St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Entombment in the family mausoleum will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to St. Anthony's Church Restoration Fund, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305 or Alliance for Homebound People, 16 Crimson Oak Court, Niskayuna, NY 12309.
