NISKAYUNA – Americo 'Mac' Brunetti, 94, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Sunday at his residence with his loving family at his side. Mac was born in South Salem, NY, a son of the late Massimo and Maria Gemi Brunetti. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and honorably served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre as a medic, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was employed by the General Electric Company as a planning supervisor, retiring after 41 years of dedicated service. Mac was a man of great virtue; he loved and provided for his family. He was a talented drummer, playing for many big bands throughout the area. Mac loved bowling and bowled in many leagues, most recently with the Monday and Friday Seniors at Boulevard Bowl. He was also a member of the Musicians Union and St. Anthony's Church. Mac was predeceased by his loving daughter, Dr. Andrée Brunetti and his brother Arthur Brunetti. Survivors include his beloved and devoted wife of 68 years, Antoinette 'Nettie' Marotta Brunetti; loving children Bernadette Counts and her husband David Sargent of Holliston, MA and Michael Brunetti of Niskayuna and his girlfriend Laura Fedor of Clifton Park; adoring grandchildren, David B. Counts and his wife Kajsa Newlin, Stefan B. Counts and Ariane Miyasaki and her husband Nicholas Ciancetta; great-grandson, Nicholas Americo Counts and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street, then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Mac's memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 141 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 or to St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305.
